SAKAE Casting's Water Cooled Heatsink
Thin-Walled
It is possible to manufacture a cold plate with a minimum wall thickness of 1 mm or less. By manufacturing with a thin wall, the overall volume can be reduced, so high cooling capacity and uniform temperature can be achieved. In addition, aluminum originally has a specific gravity of 1/3 that of copper, so it is possible to handle products that require weight reduction.

Thin-Walled Production Example

φ300 Wafer cooling heat sink φ320 t = 11 (Pipe: φ8)
A water-cooled heat sink used for temperature control of semiconductor wafers. Since it is important to make the temperature of the plate uniform, it is very important to make it with a thin wall.

Thin & Lightweight Heat Sink Thickness of 3mm
A water-cooled heat sink used to cool in-vehicle batteries and various motors. It removes unnecessary meat and has both high cooling capacity and lightness.
Reproduction of Complex Shapes

Box type water-cooled Heat Sink for transformer box cooling
A flow path is piped to the side of the box to cool the transformer housed in the box.

Fin shape water-cooled Heat Sink with chemical temperature control
A hybrid heat sink with air-cooled fins attached to the surface of the water-cooled heat sink. It is also possible to control the temperature of the liquid that has passed through the piping.

Temperature Comparison Due to Difference in Adhesion
In order to maximize the capacity of the water-cooled heat sink, the adhesion between the pipe and the aluminum heat sink side is very important. If a gap is created between, a layer of air that does not easily transfer heat will exist. With high cast heat sinks, we can manufacture water-cooled heat sinks with extremely high adhesion, so we can eliminate this concern.
Adhesion with Pipe
The degree of adhesion between the heat sink and the pipe is very important for severe temperature control. This data is a comparative verification data of a cast heat sink with high adhesion and a cutting heat sink with grease applied to the groove. Casting heat sinks takes less time to cool and stabilize at lower temperatures than cutting heat sinks that are not in perfect contact. Adhesion is a very important point in manufacturing a water-cooled heat sink.

* Above data is only our comparison.
Large Heat Sinks
We can manufacture up to 1800 x 1000 (mm) water-cooled heat sinks. Even if it is a larger size, we will propose the production by division. The internal piping size can be manufactured upon request.

Urethane sheet foaming mold Ex.1700 × 800 × 400 (mm)
The Urethane Sheet Foaming Mold can be used by piping flexible hoses and heating the mold.

LED light source cooling heat sink 1700 x 200 (mm)
An LED light source cooling heat sink can be used for irradiation equipment and exposure equpment.
Case Study

Water Leakage Prevention
The biggest problem with water cooling is the case of water leakage due to corrosion. We have never received a leak report in the past 10 years. We will select the fittings and connectors and even assemble them. If you use it for many years, maintenance, etc. will be required.

Water Corrosion Prevention
If there is a gap between the pipe and the heat sink side, heat conduction will deteriorate and there is a risk of condensation, freezing, and corrosion when cooling water flows.

Integration with Assembled Parts
When attaching the flange, cover, etc. to the water-cooled heat sink as separate parts, it takes time and money to arrange and assemble the parts for sheet metal and cutting. Depending on the shape of the casting method, these parts can be manufactured integrally with the heat sink.

Reduction of Cutting Time
Casting heat sinks can be easily molded and mass-produced from wooden molds for shapes such as rings, cylinders, boxes, and R shapes that take a lot of cutting time.

Lightweight Material
A lightweight water-cooled heat sink (for in-vehicle batteries and motor cooling) is used. Aluminum is a very lightweight material with a specific gravity of 1/3 that of copper. By combining aluminum and casting, it is possible to design/manufacture thin-walled and lightweight heat sinks.

Piping Casting Example
Thermal conductivity changes depending on the material selected. Sakae Foundry uses three types of pipes, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum, as a base, and also casts stainless flexible hoses and sheathed heaters. We will propose pipe materials according to the application and purpose. Please contact us for a quote.
We provide total support through the design of water-cooled Heat Sinks.
Based on our experience and experience in manufacturing water-cooled heat sinks for more than 10 years, we will propose the most suitable water-cooled heat sink according to the heat source.
